Resurrection Marnie
Ah, have I ever mentioned I'm indecisive?
After reading some of the information hidden within the National Novel Writing Boards, I removed the chunks of "The Chronicles of Marnie: Lyin', a Bitch and My Wardrobe" from this site.
I had read that publishers frequently won't consider material that's been published elsewhere, even on a blog that's been read by -- I think -- my mom, dad, husband and a few extremely kind fellow NaNo-ers.
Since I have every intention of finding a publisher to take on my book (after it goes through some serious editing voodoo -- but none involving a sacrifice, animal, mineral or otherwise), I took down the blog.
But on the third day, a Sunday no less, it rose again. (That's about as religious as I get.)
So the 'Marnie' blog has returned but in a new form.
National Novel Writing Month is drawing to a close and I may make it to the 50,000 words I need to be considered a NaNo winner on Nov. 30.
Once the book is complete, I will use this blog to post excerpts from it (The good ones so don't expect many posts.) and to regal you with tales of my attempts to get an agent, land a contract and one day make my day job one consisting exclusively of writing novels, screenplays and whatever else pops into my head. (All while watching plenty of television and browsing the Web. You know, to keep a finger on the cultural pulse.)
